Border delimitation
The heads of the delegations of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic expressed mutual understanding on the issue of the need to urgently describe the boundary line in the remaining areas of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border.
The parties agreed to use documents and materials from the 1924-1927 National territorial-demarcation and 1989 parity commission to describe the project line of the state border between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic in the areas from border point No.
43 to border point No.
61 and from border point No.
135 to border point No.

Working groups of topographers were instructed to describe the project line of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in the above-mentioned areas from May 5th to May 9th of the year 2021.
At the same time, by May 17, 2021, working groups of the parties will commence topographic work for describing the project line of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in Ovchi Kalacha Babajan in Gafurov district, Chorkuh, Somoniyon, Khojai-Alo of Isfara city in Sogd region of the Republic of Tajikistan as well as populated areas Maksat, Kulundu in Leilek district, Kok-Tash, Kok-Terek, Ak-Sai settlements in Batken district of Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic.
To assure unhindered movement of citizens and passage of vehicles and goods of the Republic of Tajikistan, before the completion of the process of delimitation, demarcation and legal registration of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, the parties reached an agreement to jointly construct “Khojai Alo-Vorukh” bypass road on the eastern side of Kapchigai (Tangi) settlement, which the Tajik side will be using and maintaining.
The status of the road will be determined by a separate state agreement between the two countries.
The parties agreed to proceed with the design description of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border line at the Vorukh area after the construction of the bypass road on the eastern side of the Tangi (Kapchygai) settlement is completed.

Joint Statement of the Governmental Delegations of the Republic of Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic on Delimitation and Demarcation of Tajik-Kyrgyz State Border

Dushanbe, 05.05.2021 / National Information Agency of Tajikistan (NIAT) “Khovar”/. On May 01-02, 2021, in the city of Batken, Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic, the governmental delegations of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic held a regular joint meeting on the delimitation and demarcation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz State border.

The parties, in the spirit of mutual trust and good-neighbourliness, referring to the ancient history of the peaceful coexistence of the two fraternal peoples, had a thorough exchange of views concerning the implementation of urgent measures aimed at settling the situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border as well as the resumption and activation of the joint commission’s work.

The heads of the delegations of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic expressed mutual understanding on the issue of the need to urgently describe the boundary line in the remaining areas of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border.

The parties agreed to use documents and materials from the 1924-1927 National territorial-demarcation and 1989 parity commission to describe the project line of the state border between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic in the areas from border point No.

43 to border point No.

61 and from border point No.
