THE THIRD TERM EVALUATION RESULTS OF THE CESSATION ON VIOLENCE iN ACEH

Willing to bring peace for Aceh.

the deputy operational commanders of both RI and GAM have held third term evaluation of the implementation of cessation on violence in Aceh.

The meeting has successfully been held from February 28 - March 1 2001 at Kuala Tripa Hotel Banda Aceh and has formulated some agreements in the following:

Both parties realized that the implementation of Cessation on Violence in Acch has been inhibited by so many obstacles that it has not optimally been implemented.

To optimize the implementation of the Cessation on violence in Aceh, both parties agree:

1.To develop and improve communication among the operational commanders.

2.To reemphasize the commitment of each side not to commit violence based on

the agreement achieved previously.

3.To regard the agreement on February 10.

2001 as the foundation and work

guidelines in the fields.

4.To conduct consultations for two weeks ahead.

5.To meet again on March 15.

2001 .

This agreement is made in great responsibility with the aim at achieving peace.
